Batman and Detective Comics going to $3.99 in 2012

Earlier today Newsarama posted an in depth interview with DC executive John Rood and Bob Wayne in which the pair discuss many aspects of DC's publishing plan for 2012 and how markets shares and dollar sales figures supposedly are not the driving force at the company.

Among the many hints at changes to the publishing line was the unofficial announcement that both Batman and Detective Comics were being 'bumped up' to $3.99 and 40 pages from the DC standard format of $2.99/32 pages.

As to the reason for the books increase in price and pages Rood did say that it was based on the fact those two are having the strongest sales of DC's $2.99 titles and also because of some forthcoming story point.
