There has been a ton of rumors swirling the internet because of the announcement by Warner Bros. that it was pushing the release of the Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs Superman back until summer 2016. Many are saying it has to do with a reported injury to Ben Affleck who will be starring as Batman in the movie. I've reached out to a few West Coast friends who work in the business for anything on the delay.
From what I am hearing the strongest industry buzz they are reporting is that WB has decided to include the Justice League in the movie's final act and that has necessitated the change. They are saying that final action sequence would launch the next sequel which would be a Justice League movie.
Remember Wonder Woman has already been cast but other than the returning cast from Man of Steel there has been no other announcement on other featured characters.Other sites have also tried confirming this. The Hollywood Reporter in their own coverage of the delayed release stated that Jason Momoa is in negotiations to be in the movie and Latino Review has also been running with the Justice League angle.
With production now delayed I expect that actual announcements from the studio will slow down even more. I will post again once I have any other new information.
