His name is Shazam, NOT Captain Marvel

In today's New York Post DC introduces the world to the New 52 look for Shazam, or Captain Marvel as he used to be called. According to DC CCO Geoff Johns:
“We changed his name [to Shazam] for a lot of reasons. One of them is that Shazam is the word most associated with the character, so we just felt it made sense — a lot of people already thought that was his name, anyway.”
Shazam will still have some similarities to the previous character. The familiar lightning bolt on his chest has carried over to the new version. And he will still be teen Billy Batson who can change into Shazam by shouting the magic word which has now become his name.

The introduction and new origin of DC's Shazam will begin in Justice League #7, shipping March 27.
