It's unclear if the publicity following the revelation of the lawsuit between creator Robert Kirkman and original comic series artist Tony Moore fueled viewer interest in last might's midseason premiere of The Walking Dead on AMC. Still the #1 rated cable series posted ratings records for a basic cable drama series, with 8.1 million viewers tuning in for it's 9 pm premiere.
